What makes a good sauce?
It all depends on where you’re from when it comes to barbeque sauce. Some people want more tang from the vinegar, while others prefer heat or a lot of mustard. Others, on the other hand, prefer that sweet-tasting sugar punch over everything.
So I say why dont we combine the lot!
When I was making this BBQ sauce, I wanted it to stand out from the throng. I wanted the sweetness that I’ve come to anticipate from most BBQ sauces, but I also wanted a little of acidity in the taste profile.
Finally, I wanted a nice little amount of heat towards the conclusion. Nothing to burn my throat, but enough to get me to sit up and take notice.
I perfected my sauce after experimenting with many batches. And it may now be your ideal sauce just the way it is, or you can simply modify the tastes to your liking.
How to make the best bbq sauce
It’s a simple meal that takes just a few minutes to prepare.
Measure out all of the ingredients and set them in a small, thick-bottomed pot.
Cook over low to medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugars dissolve and the sauce gradually reduces. It normally takes around 15 minutes to cook.
It will thicken as it reduces, but if you want an even thicker sauce, add 1-2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with a little water to the sauce until it reaches your preferred consistency.
How to use bbq sauce
Spread it on everything! Ribs, brisket burned ends, pork belly burnt ends, chicken, pulled pork, sliders, tacos, and loaded nachos are some of the menu items.
How to store your homemade bbq sauce
Allow the sauce to cool before transferring it to a clean jar or sauce bottle. Because of the preservation characteristics of vinegar, salt, and sugar, you should be able to preserve your barbecue sauce in the fridge for many weeks, maybe even a few months, if it lasts that long!
