Smoking potatoes is an excellent method to add flavor and variety to the same old roast potatoes.
Potatoes absorb a lot of smoke flavor and serve as a blank canvas for pretty much everything you add on them.
In this recipe, we put everything in a pan, then smoke the potatoes with fruitwood, garlic, rosemary, and parmesan cheese.

Smoking potatoes
I prefer to use small potatoes since you can throw a lot of them in a pan at once and they look nice served whole. You may purchase them in a variety of colors at times, which makes for an interesting presentation.
These go well with almost any meal and are a traditional with various foods such as lamb, beef, chicken, and fish.
Pair these smoked potatoes with my smoked rack of lamb for a fancy-looking but surprisingly easy dinner.
When smoking potatoes, keep in mind that they absorb smoke fast. You may use whatever sort of wood you like, but I prefer fruitwood. If you feel that there is too much smoke on your potatoes, consider using wood chips instead.
small people prefer to wrap their potatoes in foil and poke small holes in them to keep them from becoming too smoky, but I don’t believe that’s essential. Just control your smoking like a pro and you’ll be fine!
I also prefer to cook a little higher, about 300F, to help the potatoes crisp up a little and keep the cook time low so you don’t get too much smoke.

Potatoes are the perfect side dish
Potatoes are inexpensive, simple to prepare, and complement almost every meal. This recipe is also quite adaptable. You may add extra cheese, garlic, or herbs like parsley, thyme, and oregano in place of the rosemary.
If you don’t want to use entire potatoes, cut them into cubes. You may even crush them after you’re finished to produce something new.
I like to serve them warm, but you could also cube them and chill them to create a smoked potato salad! They’re quite forgiving, so give it a chance and get smoking!
